About TaylorPayne

Hello everyone! My name is Taylor Payne and i currently live in a Childrens Home in Deltona,Fl. I am a Senior at high School and am also attending college and will be recieveing both my AA degree and High School Diploma in May 2010. I have lived at this childrens home since i was 9 years old. My mom was a drug addict, had 5 kids, and never had time for me. I have grown so much at this children's home and become a responsible adult. I worked for 2 years but recently had to quit in order to keep up with my crazy school schedule. I take Chemistry, Anatomy, Statistics, Economics, and Psychology at Daytona State College and Health at Deltona High School. I managed to save 4,000 dollars. but after paying for surgery, orthodontic treatment, and first months rent, i have only 600 dollars. because my mother never placed me over to state care, i do not and will not recieve state funds for school or living expenses. The average State-placed kid recieves 1200 dollars. So i have enough money to get me through April, then im pretty much stranded. I will be hoping to get a job in May after i graduate and move to orlando to attend nursing school at VCC. Is there anyone willing to sponsor me. i have a long story and am more than willing to talk for those who think they may be willing to assist me. Thank you!

A Girl's Life

Many of us rememner high school as one of the worst ( and sometimes best) times of our lives. Things have changed a lot since then. I have found this new program from Rachel Simmons and PBS which documents the lives of 4 teens. Watch this innovative program about teen girls; what they think, what they do, and what they live with on a daily basis. I think it may open a lot of eyes as to the reality of our daughter's lives.

About mere34

Seeking donations for my daughter.  She plays the flute in her high school band.  In March of '09 the band will be going to the Disney High Honors program in Florida.  I am $400 short.  There is simply no extra money.  Renting a video is a big deal for us, which we don't do anyway.  I have put ads on craigslist for some items hoping to sell those.  Any donation would be a help even if it is a dollar.  Paypal would be best, lilpook30@yahoo.com

About Save HFA

Please help these bright, young women. Many famlies are facng a tremendous problem. I live in Bayonne, NJ and we have only one Catholic High School in our town. It is Holy Family Academy and it is a small, nice all girls high school. The school has been open for 83 years and is run by an order of nuns, The Sisters of St. Joseph of Chestnut Hill. This past January the nuns announced that they could no longer support the school after 2009. This came as a terrible shock to everyone in town but especially to the current students and their families. There is not another option for there girls. Our town is surrounded by water on 3 sides and we are cut off from the next town which is actually in NY. The nuns said they would remain open next year but they would not admit a new freshman class. They would offically close in June 2009. This was devestating. After seeing how much this school means to everyone and how upset/sick the girls were, they allowed us to admit a freshmas class in Sept. This gave us some time, but they will still pull out next June. A non-profit foundation has been formed to continue the school past 2009. We need to raise 500,000 before the end of this year. I am not an individual begging for $$ to be sent to me. Just visit www.Ibelieveinhfa.org There you can get more info about our plight. Please, while you are there consider making a donation. If you are a product of, or a believer in catholic education, please, please help us! Thanks

funding private school

I've been going to a private school, but my parents are getting divorced. My dad doesnt want me to go to the private Christian school, and living off a teachers salary my mom would never have enough to send me. Is there any grants or scholarships out there i can apply for? This school and my friends there are my life. giving it up my senior year in high school would be heartbreaking.

hi! i'm an uncle of 4 adorable kids. 3 (ages 11, 10, 3 yo) from my farmer brother and 1 niece (12 yo, pic posted) from my sister who is suffering from a nervous breakdown.

My niece (12 yo, pic posted) is graduating in grade school next year and i'm already worrying about her high school studies. I can't help anymore the two of them; buying medicine for her mother (she has a daily maintenance of leponex to keep her sane and calm at least) and at the same time paying for the tuition and allowance of her daughter in high school. Plus monthly food and supplies allowance. Once in a while I also give financial support to my brother and his children.

I'm trying very hard to save to buy me a small house and lot so that I can keep watch my sister and her daughter. They are staying w/ my uncle for a while w/c is 30 kilometers away. I've been renting a room since I started working (clerk in a private school) and I can't keep up anymore w/ the increasing rent.  My mother just died of heart attack after several years of being bedridden due to paralysis. My father has long been gone.

I hope there are angels out there who are willing to help especially for the education of my niece and for the medicine of her mother. i'll be very grateful. my email address is jess92@lycos.com

Single mother of 4 trying to keep children's dreams alive!

My name is Annette Ryder, I am a 51 year old separated single parent of two sons, nearly 18 and 14, and two daughers, 12, and 10. My oldest just graduated from high school, and wants to go into some kind of engineering or computer training. His brother is an entering freshman, eager to teach, serve and lead--he does all three well. These two are precocious in their maturity, and have been a great help to me in trying to support my efforts to keep our family together and functioning well. They have also given up a great deal of their time, socially and otherwise, in trying to be my assistants; their father, my now estranged husband, has had increasing difficulty holding a job, relating socially, etc. He left the home last year, under the cloud of a restraining order after verbally threatening my life and safety repeatedly, even in the earshot of his "dearly loved daughters". He is undergoing therapy and taking the domestic violence requirements to lift the restraining order; there is some progress toward sanity. The damage has been done, however, and we are beginning to see some hope again establishing a normal life and a new sense of relationship between us.

My oldest son is not attending college, in part because this year has been a great strain on him, and he wants to take some time away to "get his life together", work, maybe go into the military for a short "hitch", or take some classes in order to transfer to a local college. My younger son, very gifted in math and science, wants to work to help advance his education and go after his goals to attend a private college either in Washington or California. These two, as well as my younger daughters, have had to sacrifice happiness, dreams, ambitions and much of what should have been a happy childhood in dealing with difficulties at home. I am determined, whether I remain married to this man in recovery or not, to do all I can to bring hope back into this household and help them achieve their dreams as best as possible. They have brought me much joy, happiness and strength; I love them dearly and appreciate them greatly. We have no blood kin in my family to turn to for help in this way, and my husband's family may not be able to help us either.

Thank you for what assistance you can give, even in listening to my story.

Annette Ryder
